Problem: Brake fluid becomes oxidized and contaminated over time and use. Heat and moisture causes corrosion on parts and brake fluid failure. This causes a spongy brake pedal and shows up in discolored brake fluid.
Problem: Coolant is depleted of buffering ingredients and becomes extremely corrosive, literally eating holes in cooling system components. By-product of corrosion damage, as well as rust and scale, clog the passageways that conduct the water through the radiator and choke off the flow. This may result in overheated engine that may be damaged beyond repair.
Problem: The power steering pump produces high pressure between 800 - 2,000 pounds, with high heat. This leads to fluid breakdowns and failure. Symptoms include groaning and whining noises, erratic steering and pump leaks. Oxidized fluids stop protecting the unit and steering can become erratic and gears may make grinding noises.
Ignoring the transmission service could have serious consequences in the future. Problem: Transmission fluid over time degrades and stops cleaning and protecting the hundreds of moving parts. It is important to service the transmission whether with a drain and fill service, fluid exchange, ATF filter replacement or the full flush. One of the most expensive and hardest working systems in your vehicle is the automatic transmission system.
Problem: Heat, moisture, extreme pressure and loads cause gear oil to break down or to be contaminated, leading to lubrication failure and worn gears. The drive line transfers the power from the engine and transmission to the wheels. Overtime gear oils break down and become contaminated. This leads to lubrication failure, worn gears, deposit formation, and major repair costs.
Motor oil is used for lubrication of internal combustion engines. Ignoring or prolonging oil changes without the proper additives can cause severe engine deterioration and damage. Oil's functions include:
The cheapest form of mechanical insurance is to do your oil changes on time!
Problem: Ethanol attracts, absorbs and holds water. When enough water is absorbed, the ethanol and water mixture will separate from the gasoline and settle to the bottom of the tank. If this separation occurs, the fuel is rendered useless and must be drained. This moisture causes corrosion in the fuel system and at worst, could cause serious engine damage .
The transfer case helps transfer the power to the front and rear axles and is filled with a special fluid or gear oil. Problem: Overtime this fluid breaks down and stops lubricating the many internal moving parts. Serious problems can arise such as difficulty shifting, loud grinding noises from under vehicle, and inability to stay in four wheel drive.
The Brake Fluid Service removes all the old fluid and replaces it with new temp formula DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid.
After this service you will notice:
· Safe, reliable operation
· Corrosion prevention
· Extended component life
Recommended: Every 2 years or 30,000 miles.
Maintaining the proper pH balance and freezing point is extremely important for a healthy engine and car.
After this service you will notice:
· Overheating prevention
· Foaming prevention
· Control rust and corrosion
· Extended coolant life
· Balanced coolant pH
Recommended: Every 30,000 miles or as needed per testing.
Periodic maintenance is key to a quieter-operating, longer lasting power-steering system.
After this service you will notice:
· Eliminated steering squeal
· Corrected "jerky" steering wheel
· Fluid leak prevention
· Reduced wear
Recommended: Every 30,000 miles or as needed.
Transmission fluid begins to show its age as it turns brown in color and oxidizes due to the combination of time and heat. Deposits begin to form around the transmission's many moving parts, resulting in valves that stick and gears that slip or are sluggish and chatter as they shift.
After this service you will notice:
· Deposit prevention
· Smooth operating transmission
· Extended fluid life
Recommended: Every 30,000 to 50,000 miles or as needed.
This service provides optimum efficiency, improves seal performance and protection against wear pitting and corrosion.
After this service you will notice:
· Thermal stability
· Extended life of lubricant and components
· Improved seal performance
Recommended: Every 30,000 to 50,000 miles.
Many transfer cases are located next to the exhaust system, this additional heat can add to a more accelerated break down. As the main goal of the transfer case is to "transfer" power from the transmission to the front and rear axles very serious problems can arise when ignored such as difficulty shifting gears due to leaking seals, grinding noises coming from underneath the vehicle, and jumping in and out of four-wheel drive.
Recommended: Every 15,000 to 60,000 depending on vehicle manufacturer, driving habits or as needed per inspection results.
Standard oil change includes synthetic blended oil quarts, original or premium filter, drain plug gasket (if applicable) and maintenance light reset.
Full synthetic includes full synthetic oil quarts, original or premium filter, oil drain plug gasket (if applicable) and maintenance light reset.
Getting up there in mileage and age? It's time to set up your standard service with the Engine Performance Restoration Service.
Qualifying vehicles are enrolled in the BG LifeTime Protection Plan.
Add a BG MOA to your oil change. Give yourself the ability to go further between oil changes. Motor Oil Additive increases film strength, prevents oil oxidation, sludge, and varnish deposits. MOA also protects again rust and corrosion while providing greater power and performance.
Qualifying vehicles are enrolled in the BG LifeTime Protection Plan.
Add a BG CF5 to your oil change. Give your fuel system a boost and protection. Carbon Figther 5 is designed to prevent costly repairs caused by fuel related deposits and protects the fuel system while restoring optimum fuel economy.
Qualifying vehicles are enrolled in the BG LifeTime Protection Plan. (Includes oxygen sensor coverage)
Add a BG Fuel System Drier to your oil change.
BG Fuel System Drier absorbs moisture that accumulates from condensation in the fuel tank . It safely and effectively absorbs moisture, holding it in suspension until it can be burned up by the engine.
Qualifying vehicles are enrolled in the BG LifeTime Protection Plan.
The BG Ethanol Fuel System Defender Service contains corrosion inhibitors that coat fuel system components protecting them from corrosive acids. The fuel system is safe and fuel flow is optimal. This service cleans the entire fuel system and keeps it free of damaging deposits.
After this service you will notice:
· Restored performance
· Restored fuel economy
· Longer lasting fuel system components
Recommended: Minimum once per year or as needed.
It is important to catch fluid leaks before they become serious and put you at risk of engine fire.
During the steam cleaning process, a Professional Auto Care certified technician will clean the affected area(s) so the leak can be monitored and the severity recorded. In many cases, the client will be asked to return within a week or two in order to better see if any other additional smaller leaks are also present.
Many times leaks are not alone. When a serious leak is fixed, other smaller leaks may appear. This is important to note so that clients can know and keep track of the system that has the highest risk of major system damage and be sure to check that system's fluid more frequently.
Sometimes there are a number of leaks in a system but they are all very minor and will not result in immediate system damage. It is only possible to know the extent of the leaks when the engine is clean. That is why steam cleaning is so important. It is not always cost effective to fix a leak as soon as it is found so keeping an eye on the leak(s) and fixing them once they are more severe is the best way to avoid major system failure.
